He might have remained off-camera throughout, but he was the one Josh Schwartz chose to direct the first two episodes from the very first season of his famous TV series, The O.C.

“Premiere” and “Model Home” were the two The O.C. episodes that Josh scripted along with Allan Heinberg and got directed by Doug Liman. Now, before I try scooping into the main news, let me divert your attention to an interesting trend kept up by the show.

Stars like Peter Gallagher, Mischa Barton, Rachel Bilson and Alan Dale were also a part of the show’s cast, and today all of them have been able to carve out a large enough niche for themselves in the industry. The O.C. stars have indeed made it really big.

And, now one of its directors has been able to rope in Tom Cruise to feature as the lead star of his upcoming film based on the novel All You Need Is Kill, by Hiroshi Sakarazaka.

As per reports, the producers had doled out $3 million for the rights of the film last year, and as a resulted demanded an A- category actor to add value to the investment.

After Brad Pitt, turned down the offer, Tom Cruise was the next actor that they approached. Tom Cruise was busy shooting for One Shot at the moment, and Doug Liman had to actually fly down to the sets to convince Cruise for his movie.

Liman’s film will be a high tech sci-fi thriller that will have Tom Cruise in the role of an army soldier, who dies in a battle against alien invasion.

As the story would reveal post-release, he will face a compulsion to live the day of his death, over and over again in order to correct to rectify the very error that causes his death. In the process, he sharpens and improves as a soldier.

Once a father, always a father!

This saying befits Alan Dale’s casting stories, as he once again gets ready to perform a fatherly role in ABC’s Once Upon a Time.

Alan is known for his role as Kirsten’s father and Julie Cooper’s husband in the television series, The O.C.

As The OC download reveals, the role of this man, Caleb, a recurring one in the first season had been transformed into a regular character in the second, and is the first one to die on the show.

Alan, after the success of The O.C., was sucked into ABC’s Lost as Charles Widmore. And the producers of the series, Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, have now revealed that Alan has already been cast in ABC’s fairytale drama ‘Once Upon a Time’, in one more important role.

At the Disney D23 fan expo, the producer duo added that though his appearance has been sketched out for the character of Prince Charming’s father in one episode, possibilities to integrate the role further into the show remains present at large.

The fairy tale drama, Once Upon a Time, has Jennifer Morrison treading into a cursed town, where fairy tale characters have been bonded to a normal existence. And as the story moves on, Alan might just have more in store to watch out for.

Alan would be accompanied by other inspiring actors like Ginnifer Goodwin of Big Love fame under the skin of Snow White, and Robert Carlyle of ‘Trainspotting’ in the role of Rumplestiltskin.

The only difference and difficulty that Alan now might face is with fathering fairy tale characters. He doesn’t even know if his experiences with Kirsten would work here!

Though the curse promises them to be normal, you never know, he just might have to deal with some magic.

Just hope that it comes out of love!

Former star of The OC, Adam Brody, is back to set your screens ablaze!

Well, by that I mean, Brody is not gonna make any appearance on any of the shows; rather it’ll be his vibrant high gravity voice, which would enthrall the viewers.

Yeah guys! Adam is all set to debut as a voice-over actor in the ball park!

Reports reveal that the actor has been signed on, to offer his inviting voice to a character in a new MTV cartoon, Good Vibes. The show being centered on two best friends, Mondo and Woodie, is anticipated to bring a veteran vocalist out of the guy. Well, I think, it’s surely the part-time musician profile of Brody that has let the show-runners propose him this role.

Now, for the knowledge of Adam’s admirers, the actor will be voicing Woodie, a guy with a golden heart, in the anime series. Interestingly, the portrayal is too close to Adam’s personal life. I’m simply excited to perceive the cartoon series as soon as it hits the television world.

Well, at the same time, I wish that it could be the actor himself; rather than his voice only. Ain’t you feeling like to perceive the wealthy Cohen as an animated character? I know, you must be, though it remains to be seen how well Adam fares in his character.

But, I, for one, is quite assured of the guise that Adam will exhibit in his attempts.

Now, the actor has reportedly taken this opportunity to clear things, in the right light.

The actress is surely brought up in New York, but she isn’t an American by birth.

She was born in Mersmith, West London to an Irish Mother and a Mancunian father.

The entire Barton family moved to New York, when she was six years of age and that’s how the actress grew up as an American.

But with regards to the geographical parameters of nationality, Mischa is surely British.

Hollywood does have a lot of contribution from UK, isn’t it so?

For a show that ran for only four seasons, the impact that The OC had made on the minds on the minds of the viewers is far greater than a number of shows, which have ran for a longer time period.

The show about a group of the rich residents of the Orange County, The OC was in fact a dark, dankly description of the adventures of rich families and their troubled kids.

That was just one part of the show; among the other things that made an instant impact with the audiences was the love story between Marissa Cooper and Ryan Atwood. I mean, we had not seen such a strange, wild and often downright insane love affair on television, in a long long time.

And while Marissa’s tragic death in season three was an event that provoked unparalleled sorrow, it was her character that actually defined everything that’s wrong with the modern day youth.

In the beginning, the show’s creator’s got the image of Marissa as a troubled girl with a mile-wide rebellious streak that led to her even experimenting with drugs, a lot. But soon, we saw a host of changes in her when she came in contact with Ryan.

Do you remember the monologue between the two of them where she asked him, who he is, and he nonchalantly replied, whoever she wanted him to be.
That was easily a classic exchange of faith between two troubled and lost human beings coming into contact via the social settings they have come to hate.

Even the episode where Marissa ended up shooting Ryan’s brother while trying to save Ryan’s life, the whole scenario was a bit surreal, especially with Imogen Heap’s new song, Hide and Seek playing in the background.

But when Marissa died in the car accident, viewers were left shell-shocked and this reaction for a girl who had created nothing but trouble, actually defined her popularity.

At first sight, she seems to have all that any girl can dream of – drop-dead gorgeous looks, incredible fame and a fortune enough to last a lifetime.

The actress I’m talking about is the ravishingly beauty Mischa Barton, who shot to fame with her role as Marissa Cooper on The O.C.

She had everything that is required to become the object of envy for any regular teen.

But, the picture-perfect image suddenly crumbled down, much like a sand castle, pulling off the façade of perfection that Mischa had been adorning, and exposing the real her to her dismayed fans.

The career graph of this ethereal beauty has suffered a steep fall, and her name is gradually fading, leaving behind nothing but a fond memory of a once-successful beauty, who failed to realize how beautiful she really was.

This may sound absurd, but Mischa indeed has suffered from issues surrounding her body image for a long time, she finally succumbed to the pressure, and began to live a life that was no more than an everyday battle against death.

Believe it or not, Mischa went to the extent of attempting suicide, and was saved by a friend at the last moment, after she had written a suicide note.

The irony is that Mischa and Marissa Cooper, her character in The O.S., are identical in the sense that Marissa, too, is a troubled girl. Marissa played a girl, who was in a continuous fight with drugs and alcohol and finally died in The O.C.

In her real life, she remained in constant dissatisfaction of her body, ultimately ending up in rehab, where she’s been struggling for months now to put together the broken pieces of her life.

Let’s just hope that she succeeds this time around and breaks the jinx that shows her a parallel to Marissa Cooper!
